Visual Artists Announced for All Roads 2016

As an extension of our mission to showcase indie + Maine talent, this year we have the pleasure of hosting a handful of Maine based visual artists to be mixed in with this years musicians. The addition of visual arts allows us to highlight another sector of the Maine creative arts community.

The artists and artist groups to be featured are:

Fast Food Prints, a traveling screen printing studio founded by Portland, Maine artist Shawn Brewer.

Freehand Armada a Portland, Maine based collective of artists, illustrators and designers working in unison to create a contemporary arts dialogue rooted in a skate and punk rock ideal often under-represented in Maine. To be featured at the Festival this year is “Summer Mix-Tape” event, founded in the summer of 2015.

Hannah Berta, emerging Rockport, Maine-based installation artist cuts away organic shapes from yards of “altered” paper creating an intricate lace of mark-making using form, light and shadow.

Pasco Grove specializes in chainsaw sculpture based from Searsport, Maine.

Steven Brooks from Cumberland, Maine uses recycled materials to make mostly wildlife based work.

    Good morning,

I just wanted to bring to your attention another Art project that will be launching on May 21st. In hopes that your organization will support and or help promote this wonderful opportunity. It’s the “Fantastic Sea Creatures” Waldo County Children’s Mural Project. These are elementary age students, 21 were selected out of 198 entries. This project is being organized by David Hurley and a college, the kids are paired up with local artist from Belfast to help them paint their sea creatures on the side of the Family Dollar on Main Street. I think this would be a wonderful addition to your visual artists you are featuring, plus show support for budding young artists! I hope you consider supporting this wonderful opportunity.
